In keeping with the Azerbaijani Ministry of International Affairs press service, Azerbaijan has submitted an utility to affix the BRICS group.
BRICS (an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) is an intergovernmental group comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia.
The group was based in June 2006 in the course of the St. Petersburg Financial Discussion board with the participation of the finance ministers from Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
