A minimum of 17 individuals have died in flash floods triggered by heavy rain throughout Oman since Sunday, the nation’s Nationwide Committee for Emergency Administration (NCEM) experiences.

On Tuesday, the federal government suspended the work of workers and staff in the private and non-private sectors in 5 governorates, together with Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, and Al Dakhiliyah, because of the climate circumstances.

The federal government has allowed workers to work remotely if attainable.

Authorities in Oman are conducting “rescue operations” after saying all colleges in six governorates together with Muscat, could be closed Monday “as a result of unstable climate circumstances,” based on a Monday UNOCHA assertion.
